Additional Crosley CR49 Traveler Portable Turntable, Tan Information
|
The optimum use of a disc record of constant rotational speed occurs when the innermost recorded diameter is half of the outermost recorded diameter. But why worry yourself with the details. The Crosley Portable Suitcase Style Turntable plays all three speeds, 33 1/3, 45 and 75 RPM records. By the late fifties, stereo records reached a peak in the marketplace as hi-fi sound reproduction attained its largest audience to date. The portable turntable was introduced in the late 1950's and provided music lovers with a sense of independence, allowing them to easily cart their record player from one locale to another. The popularity of this unit was due in no small part to its portability, but also to its suitcase-styled finishing touches that became a Crosley hallmark. So whether you choose Ella Fitzgerald or Elvis, celebrate your vinyl in portable style.

What Customers Say About Crosley CR49 Traveler Portable Turntable, Tan:

It has an authentic case and we are all enjoying the connection to our past. The sound was much better than I had anticipated. I purchased this turntable as a Christmas present for my grandchildren to play some old vinyl records they had found in the attic. I'm sure these records haven't been played for at least 20 years and happily this turntable did not disappoint.
How would I get a backup needle. You gotta be very careful to follow the [somewhat vague] instructions, and, above all, be patient. No information on that is available. The record player arrived in timely fashion. It works well, even though it works in an unorthodox way.
Will return for something else- I bougt this as a gift to my parents for christmas-spoke to them today and they were so disappointed because the albums my son gave them as well as there own 33 1/3 records were too big and kept hitting the back of the record case when the record spun around-I don't know why no one else wrote about this but that seems to be the problem with the one I bought.
Fortunately, I was able to take the thing apart and fix the problem. This record player was adequate for playing records, but it does seem to be made out of rather cheap parts. I can not comfortably recomend this product for someone who expects a good quality machine. It has been functioning fine after that, but I really think that it's poor assembly shows how well the quality control was for this product. It was dissapointing to get it and not have it work properly from the very start. The first record I put in there would not play past the first two songs, because the automatic shut-off was not set properly.
Sound like you have your head in a bottle and someone is playing music on the outside. If I could give this a negative star I would. Do not waste your time with this unless you want to break in in revolt to how much it sucks. I am super dissapointed with the good reviews on this (which is why I bought it). Cheap, poor quality, the tone arm is NOT ADJUSTABLE which makes it sit heavy on the record and skip around and scratch. The sound quiality is awful.
